Spring Fashion Trends of 2025: What’s In and What’s Out

Spring Fashion Trends of 2025: What’s In and What’s Out

Fashion trends change so fast it feels like there’s a new fashion trend every month. One day, an aesthetic trend is all over social media, and the next, it’s replaced by something completely different. TikTok fashion trends, Instagram influencers, and runway designers constantly introduce new styles, making it hard to keep up. But here’s the thing fashion is always evolving, and so are we. The best part? You don’t have to follow every trend. Some styles might fit your vibe, while others… not so much.

So, what’s trending in 2025? Let’s dive into the Spring fashion trends of 2025 and see what’s in and what’s out!

🔥 What’s IN & OUT for 2025 ❌

🔥IN: Skinny Jeans 👖

Skinny jeans are officially back! But don’t worry, we’re not talking about the ultra-tight, circulation-cutting styles that made moving (or breathing) a challenge.

If you got rid of your skinnies thinking they were gone for good, it’s time to grab a new pair. But how are skinny jeans trending in 2025? Not sure but apparently the only go-to styling choice seems to be pairing them with boots especially mid-calf and knee-high styles. But honestly? Skinny jeans are versatile and you can wear them however you want. Try them with ankle boots, combat boots, sleek heels, or even sneakers with chunky socks for an effortlessly chic look.

OUT: Extreme Baggy Pants

Baggy pants had their moment….in 1980-2000s and again in 2020, but 2025 is shifting towards more structured, wearable silhouettes. Now, don’t confuse these with regular wide-leg or relaxed-fit pants, those are still very much in style. The trend that’s fading is the extra-slouchy, oversized baggy jeans that require constant adjusting to keep them from falling.

Sure, they can look cool in streetwear photoshoots, especially when styled with visible boxers or crop tops. But for everyday wear? They're hard to style without looking overly undone. If you love a relaxed fit, swap extreme baggy jeans for straight-leg, wide-leg, or tailored loose-fit pants instead.

✅IN: Powder Pink , Earthy Brown, and Burgundy

This year’s color trends are shifting towards warm, rich, and feminine shades that add depth and vibrancy to your wardrobe.

💗 Powder Pink – If you love soft, romantic tones, you’ll be happy to know that pastel pink is back in a big way. Whether in dresses, coats, or accessories, this color is a must-have for fashion lovers who embrace a chic and feminine aesthetic.

🤎 Earthy Brown – In case you were wondering what type of brown, it's chestnut or any warm, earthy brown that's trending this season. These shades flatter all skin tones and pair beautifully with both neutrals and bold colors. Personally, mocha brown is my favorite, it blends effortlessly with my complexion, giving off a bold, warm vibe.

🍷 Burgundy – Burgundy, my classic fall favorite, is an underrated color, and I’m so glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves. While it hasn't been as dominant lately, expect to see deep wine and plum tones resurfacing in everything from blazers to dresses. And yes, I’m planning a burgundy collection for fall, so stay tuned!

OUT: Beige Everything & Monochrome Neutrals

If you’ve been living in head-to-toe beige, it might be time to switch things up. All beige outfit is giving basic!

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a good neutral piece, but wearing beige from head to toe or decorating an entire house in beige? It’s giving basic overload. These basic colors are being swapped for a more richer and diverse color palettes.

✅IN: KITTEN HEELS
Kitten heels are making a stylish comeback! I haven’t bought a pair yet. These dainty heels mostly come in neutral tones, but if you’re looking for something edgier, go for a bold shade like burgundy or emerald green. They’re chic, stylish, and a perfect alternative for those who love a little height but can’t deal with the discomfort of high heels. Plus, they’re a great choice for office wear, elevated yet comfortable!

OUT: CHUNKY SHOES
Chunky footwear had its moment, but it's stepping aside for more sleek and streamlined shoe styles. That doesn’t mean they’re gone forever (because let’s be real—trends always come back), but for now, oversized, bulky shoes are being replaced by more classic silhouettes. I’ve noticed some ultra-flat shoes making their way into the fashion scene, but I’m not convinced they’re catching on. Personally, I like chunky shoes to an extent but super exaggerated ones? Not so much.

✅IN: ASYMMETRICAL LOOKS
Asymmetry is making a strong comeback! This trend was big back in the day, especially with skirts, but now it’s all about tops. Think one-shoulder designs, uneven hemlines, and bold diagonal cuts. I’ve been seeing a lot of brands experiment with this style, and honestly, they should do even more. I personally love it—I even sell a few asymmetrical pieces in my store because because they give off such a sexy and effortless vibe.

OUT: OLD-SCHOOL ELEGANCE
Classic old-school elegance isn’t disappearing completely it’s just evolving. Traditional vintage-inspired styles are being swapped for modern and trendier look. The same goes for the “old money” aesthetic, it had its viral moment, but the trend faded fast because, let’s be real, not everyone has an old-money wardrobe or the lifestyle to match. Instead, we’re seeing a more contemporary take on timeless sophistication.

✅IN: FUNCTIONAL BAGS
Not sure when these ever really went out of style, but functional, stylish bags are back in the spotlight. We’re talking trendy yet practical designs like east-west silhouettes, bucket bags, and even one-shoulder bags making a comeback. People are finally prioritizing bags they can actually use, rather than just carrying around mini accessories for aesthetic purposes.

❌OUT: MICRO BAGS
You know those tiny purses that could barely fit a single chapstick? Yeah, those are out. I don’t have much to say about this one, except that I haven’t been seeing many new micro bag styles, which is proof that people are moving on to more practical options. They are great for a photoshoot, don’t get me wrong, but they’re not even functional for going out and about.

✅IN: MAXIMALISM
Bold prints, mixed textures, and statement pieces are back. Honestly, mixed textures have always been around, but now they’re really being embraced. Think suede, croc, and fringe making a statement this season. And let’s not forget the accessories, maximalism isn’t complete without bold, oversized jewelry. Say goodbye to dainty pieces; now it’s all about layering and going big.

❌OUT: MINIMALISM
If maximalism is in, then you already know minimalism is out. Simple, stripped-down outfits are taking a backseat in favor of more creative, statement-making looks. Don’t get me wrong minimalism can be chic, clean, and timeless, and it’s great for those days when you want a sleek, effortless look. But as a full-on aesthetic? It’s not dominating like it used to.

✅IN: BOMBSHELL MAKEUP
I’m so happy that bombshell makeup is making a comeback! If you love bold, dramatic glam, think voluminous lashes (but not those clumpy caterpillar ones), sculpted brows, and defined features then this is your time to shine. Colorful eyeshadows are also trending again, which I love.

❌OUT: CLEAN GIRL MAKEUP
The “clean girl” aesthetic aka barely-there, no-makeup makeup is stepping aside for full-glam looks. I tried the clean-girl makeup, but honestly, it never looked right on me. I’d start with just foundation and lashes, then I’d add a little nude eyeshadow… then some contour… and before I knew it, I had a full face of makeup on. Some people can really pull it off, but for me, it always felt like something was missing. I’d rather go all in or wear no makeup at all.

✅IN: VOLUMINOUS HAIR
Big, bouncy, voluminous hair is back! I never really got into the super sleek, ultra-flat look, so I’m thrilled to see volume making a return. If you love showing off your natural, thick, and fluffy hair, you’ll love this trend. I’ve always embraced big hair, my hair has a mind of its own, so I’m excited to see this style take over again.

❌OUT: SLEEK BACK HAIR
Slicked-back hairstyles are fading out, and I couldn’t be happier. I cannot for the life of me sleek my hair back without using a ton of product, which just makes it rock hard. And since my hair is curly, my roots would still have little waves while the rest was straight and it was a mess. Even when I was in the Army, I struggled to get that tight, sleek bun. Plus, let’s be honest, it gave me migraines and made me look bald. So, goodbye slicked-back buns, and hello to voluminous, effortless hair!

Final Thoughts

Fashion trends come and go, but personal style? That’s forever. Whether you’re excited to see skinny jeans make a comeback, ready to swap sleek hair for big volume, or just here for the fashion chaos, 2025 has something for everyone. But remember, just because something is trending doesn’t mean you have to follow it. At the end of the day, the best style is the one that makes you feel like you.

So, which trends are you rocking this year, and which ones are you saying “absolutely not” to? Let me know I’d love to hear your take!
